Service Calls

  • Dispatch Fee

    $125/ea
  • We arrive in a clearly marked truck, stocked with many of the common parts and tools needed to maintain your RV. We provide a trained, certified, insured technician who is familiar with many of the systems you need to maintain your safety and comfort, and we travel for free up to 25 miles from Harrison, TN or our mobile base when roving (shown on our web map below).

  • Mileage Fee, one way

    $2.25/mi
  • When the distance exceeds 25 miles we may charge per mile one-way for our trip to you, calculated from our base in Harrison, TN or our mobile base when roving. Serious off-road travel over 1 mile may incur an up-charge. Trips to acquire specialty parts may be charged the Hourly Fee for the time they take.

Service Calls (Cont.)

  • Standard Labor, min. 1 hr.

    $125/hr
  • We charge an Hourly Fee for each mobile Certified RV Technician once onsite and until work stops, with a 1 hour minimum. PLEASE NOTE: We do NOT charge a "flat rate" like the dealerships. We pride ourselves on quality work, done expediently, and done right, and we never cut corners to "beat the clock".

  • Emergency Labor, min. 1 hr.

    $250/hr
  • We provide 7/24 emergency service for your safety and convenience. With extreme temperatures there may be more than just your comfort at stake, and Roving Handyman is ready to answer your call. Services outside our core hours incur normal dispatch and mileage fees, and emergency hourly rates.

Roving Handyman charges mobile labor fees per hour to ensure you get what you pay for. Most dealerships and service centers charge a "flat fee" which sets a standard number of hours or minutes to complete the task. If the service is completed in 10 minutes, and the standard rate is 2 hours, you pay the technician for 2 hours! At Roving Handyman, we feel this incents the technician to rush the work and "beat the clock", which clearly shows in the poor quality of work that is commonplace today. At Roving Handyman, you will receive a certified technician who is focused on the task at hand, and who completes it expediently, yet with quality in mind. Your RV is a big investment, and it (and you) deserve a service done right the first time. For older RVs with heavy corrosion, multiple owners, or unknown DIY work, it is important to note that stuck fasteners, non-standard wiring, and custom installations may affect the time it takes to perform a quality service.

Learn About Repair & Maintenance

Our experts answer the most frequently asked service questions.

Why is My Furnace Only Running for 30 Seconds?

A furnace has numerous safety features, and without regular maintenance they get dirty and fail, sometimes intermittently. Most often pet hair and dust have clogged the "sail switch", making the furnace think the blower is not running and shutting the furnace off after 10-30 seconds, and even locking it out completely after 3 tries.

Why Is My Water Heater Leaking?

A full water tank will often drip from the pressure relief valve, but that doesn't mean the valve has failed. Water expands when heated, and needs a "cushion" of air at the top of the tank to allow for that expansion. Turn off the heater, let it cool, and open the relief valve to let water out, and a cushion of air in, then let it "snap" shut.

Why Is My Waste Tank (Black Tank) Clogged?

Waste tanks need lots of liquid to process and drain properly. Most often the cause of a black tank clog is leaving the waste valve open while hooked up at a "Full Hookup" site, allowing fluids to drain slowly while solids build up and dry out, creating a blockage in the center of the tank that requires a wand or hose to evacuate.
